In essence my main goal as a psychotherapist is to achieve a therapeutic alliance with my client, and then proceed to coming up with a treatment plan. Before a treatment plan may be reached a session of 1.5 hours takes place at which time I complete a diagnosis, and a treatment plan with short term measurable goals.							Adult therapy may take many forms such as working singly with the individual in therapy or may include the individual’s partner, or family. Sometimes it is very useful to have outside influences come into the psychotherapy room so as to receive as much information as possible about the client being seen. 	Please also refer to Therapy types, so as to better understand the types of treatment available for Adults.					Often an adult client comes do to legal issues, whether it is custody issues or a DUI. I will work with the court system and your attorney throughout your struggle with your legal dispute. Many times I write letters to the court making recommendations on my client’s behalf or help decide on a custody schedule with another therapist or attorney. It is important when going through these difficult times to have a person to help advocate for you.												Many times a client may come into therapy following being laid off or just not really sure what to do with their life. This is when, “therapeutic Coaching,” comes into play. Coaching will work on helping you realize your future goals, while Psychotherapy will delve into your past and find the why’s and understand what has brought you to where you are now. Combining Coaching and Psychotherapy make for a perfect match in dealing with the present, past, and future.								Many issues for adults range from co-dependency issues to marital difficulties. With marriage generally there may be conflicts surrounding blending families, money issues, and parenting techniques. Psychotherapy is a road of self-discovery, which may also help everything from low self esteem, anxiety disorders, trauma, PTSD, depression, addictions, and fear.
	Psychotherapy uses behavior modification to help implement life changing choices, goal setting, as well as learning how to talk to others in a way that they may here what you are saying.
